Google Nest WiFi Pro (3-Pack)
Mesh WiFi built for Google households. Thread and Matter support means your smart home devices connect natively, not through workarounds.
$230
What we like
- Deep Google Home integration means Nest cameras, Nest Hub, and other Google devices connect with zero friction
- Built-in Thread border router supports Matter smart home devices natively, which is increasingly important
- Covers up to 6,600 sq ft with three units, slightly more than the eero Pro 6E
- App-based setup with no web portal means you're up and running in minutes
What could be better
- Best value comes when you're already in the Google ecosystem; less compelling for Alexa households
- No dedicated backhaul band like the eero Pro 6E, which can reduce speeds in very dense device environments
- At $230, it's the priciest 3-pack in the Wi-Fi 6E tier
Best for
- • Households already using Google Home, Nest cameras, or Nest Hub
- • Anyone who wants built-in Thread and Matter support for newer smart home devices
- • Larger homes (up to 6,600 sq ft) that need reliable coverage for 20+ devices
Our verdict
The Nest WiFi Pro is the obvious choice if you're a Google household. The Thread border router support is a genuine differentiator: as more smart home devices adopt the Matter standard, having a router that speaks Thread natively will matter more and more. Reviewers at The Verge and Tom's Guide praise the integration with Google Home, noting that Nest cameras and other Google devices connect with noticeably less fuss than on competing mesh systems. The trade-off is that without a dedicated backhaul band, raw throughput in very dense device environments can lag behind the eero Pro 6E. For most homes with 20-50 devices, you won't notice the difference.
